Happy Valintien's Day!

This year was a great Valentines. Isn't the cake hilarious? My aunt bought it at Costco. They tried to give it to her for free because of the spelling error, but my aunt thought it was great! We were grateful that Valentine's fell on a Saturday this year so that we could spend the entire day together. Usually it falls on an evening when Preston has late class, or that I am teaching late. The celebration began on Friday. One of the great things about teaching at an elementary school is being able to celebrate holidays with fun activities and games. A few of my students gave me Valentines. I even got a plant from Cactus and Tropicals, which is one of my favorite stores!

This is one of my cute students with her Valentines box that she made. Isn't she cute?

On Saturday morning I woke up to flowers being delivered from my cute dad! He is so thoughtful! For gifts Preston and I got each other the Wii-Fit and a new cover for our Lovesack, since the zebra stripes don't really go with the rest of our furniture. I still can't believe how much they charge for just a cover!

Somehow during the years, my Lovesack came unzipped. We were very grateful that it was not a hole like we first thought. But needless to say swapping the cover was a larger project than we originally thought. I think we will be finding miniature foam pieces for weeks to come (they are like those foam peanuts that stick to you when you open a package).

For dinner we were craving sushi and went to Mikado. Unfortunately, we didn't think to make reservations, but it was well worth the wait! My cute cousin who was working decided to buy us dessert (a delicious bananas foster) it was amazing! Thanks Ang!

Horn Happy

So for many of you that don't know I have a minor case of road rage. It mostly involves me honking at drivers that make me angry. It bugs Preston because when he drives, because I will reach over to honk at someone making us angry. Needless to say, it is probably not the best habit to have. Well the other day on my way to work this truck pulled in front of me as I was getting into the left hand turning lane, and so of course I honked. Well as we started to turn left (we had a green arrow and a green light) this car in the lane to go straight tried to turn with me (even though there were not two turning lanes.) Keep in mind that it was some lady in a gold Camry. Well I honked and glared at her as well. The next thing I know, she flips her lights on. She was a cop! Great! I totally thought she was going to pull me over, but she ended up pulling over the original truck that I had honked at. I still can't believe I honked at a cop! Maybe I need to be more careful who I honk at... especially since my plates are expired (long story).

What are the Odds?

I don't know if any of you feel this way, but I always get nervous to use the handicap stalls in the bathroom, I am always afraid that some handicapped person will be standing there when I come out. Does anyone know the bathroom etiquette of handicapped stalls.... are they only for handicapped people? Well see at the Jazz game, I had to go to the restroom during half-time, which is when everyone decides to go, so it was of course crowded, and there was a line. When it was my turn, the stall that opened up was the handicapped stall, so I went in. However, while I was in the stall I heard an elderly woman talking to someone that was cleaning the bathrooms who told the woman that there was a stall on the end, but that it was occupied. To my embarrassment, as I emerged from the stall there was the elderly woman using a walker waiting for me to come out. I was mortified.
